This is an original not processed image. I shoot it in the night, and what you see is a big lightning that illuminated all the clouds over the mountains. I shoot this image from my house in Desenzano on the Garda lake... it was a spectacular night. Do you remember the movie "Indipendence day", when the alien ships came to the earth... I think the image seems something like this. Hope you enjoy it!

Astonishing photo! - with that red light under the cloud base it looks almost like a volcano erupting.

This has me captivated and really looking for the alien ship somewhere in those clouds! No PP? That is fantastic!!
I like night time photography and have started to work on it over the past week or so.

@Lost Valley: Thank you very much for your comment! I also think it's almost surreal. When I saw it in the camera screen for the first time, I cannot believe it was real. In the full resolution image you can also watch the stars in the sky that were impressed thanks to the very long exposition (1 minute, 40 second). I'm happy that you enjoyed it.
This is absolutely incredible!! I am working on this...something I want to be able to do eventually. Great work!!
